First breeding tank

Just set up my first breeding tank got everything today. 20g long with peguin 150 and heater. Just put the two black convicts in 1.5 inches each. Hope they are male female If not i have a full size male so hopefully one is female

Female cons have orange spots on their belly. It's pretty easy to tell.

you can't see orange at that small can you?? I know its easy to tell full size convicts i just didn't know you could tell at 1 to 1.5inches

You should be able to tell male and female apart easily at 1.5"

The female starts showing the orange belly at just over an inch long.

well i hope one is female because i don't see any orange but its only one inch around the other is 1.5

There no advice to give with Convicts. Just "set it and forget it". Your basic and common cichlids found at Petsmart breed by themselves...Convicts, Jewels, Jacks.

Convicts will breed even with danger and bad conditions. Jewels are the same.
