First ca/sa

Im looking to upgrade my 55 gallon to a 120 4x2x2 in the spring and im looking to make the 120 a ca/sa tank. Im going to the lfs this afternoon and I want to know what type of ca/sa cichlid would be a good starter for me (ive never owned cichlids before) I want something smallish (5-6 inches) and isnt overly mean. What would be a good starter?

You can have much more than just a big fire mouth in there. Try severums, they're fairly hardy and don't get too big or aggressive for a beginner.

the stocklist is 1 leopard ctenopoma 1 ropefish 1 sen bichir 1 delhezi bichir a false gar and the firemouth. I got the fire mouth because I wanted to see if I like cichlids.

It was an african oddball tank, well It still kinda is but now ive got the firemouth he seems to have already claimed half the tank already with the exception of the ropefish im pretty happy with him
