first carp session in a while

Yesterday i went to don castro and caught a few small carp and then today i went to a lake where i was bass fishing a few weeks ago and saw a buch of nice commons. I got there for the first time carp fishing there at 3:00 and saw this nice koi on arival hanging under the bushes at the creek mouth.

I saw a few commons around to, after chumming for a while i got them feeding, long story short after a few hours of stalking freelined bread i lost a 20lb+ common to the tules and caught the koi which was 13lbs. Will return there tomorrow morning for the commons.

Nice....what did you do with it? I have a lake by me that is loaded with all different types cause people keep letting them go in there. Some 30lbs in this place.
 
Awesome catch! Our lake has some large goldfish in it that we rarely see. One of these days.
 
Sweet! I hand caught a similar koi in a small creek that leads in to lake michigan near where my family stays every summer. I picked it up and actually took it out to the pillings and let it go. It was a majestic sight seeing that fish swim out in the open water. It was completely white...Dont be worried, I have killed my fair share of carp, you should check the spearfishing thread if you dont believe me.
