Id like to start off by saying this is my attempt with any coldwater species. My wife and i are constructing a pond soon. we purchased a 55 gallon and added three aquaclear 70s and a strong powerhead. all parameters are great and the temp hovers around 70f. the aquarium is full of large stones, rocks and pebbles with brown gravel/sand substrate.we purchased 20 1-2 inch healthy commons and one four inch silver and black koi. our pond will open in two months. will the fish be comfortable in this size aquarium for two mtys? We perform daily ten perfect water changed and feed a mixture of hikari/flaxes three times a day.Id love to sho pics but the mobile app isn't loading and i can't upload pics through mobile web. thanks!

How sturdy is your rock pile? I'd hate to hear about a collapse taking out a fish or even cracking the tank.

We wanted to create a habitat as close to their wild habitat as we could to make the fish feel at home. How did we do? Any tips?

The goldfish you buy at the store is not really found In the wild, or at least in the same form as in the pet store. There is no real natural habitat for them. The carp which they were breed from we're from Asia. Just give them open space and protection from predators.

They will be fine in their for a few months.

Thank you. Do you think waste buildup will end up being a problem since they produce so much ammonia?

They are small fish. They will be good as long as you provide good filtration.

Ill take your word for it. I expected getting bashed for having 25 fish in a 55 lol! What would you suggest for water changes?

well for that many fish, id say its up to you how many times and how much water you take out, as long as it adds up to 30-50 percent every other week.

on my 55 it has 3 tinfoil barbs at 4'' and a severum at 6''. i do 10 percent every other day

well with some crazy people you might be, and i know that fish have to be happy to be healthy, but also what fun is it for the hobbyist if you have a giant tnk with only a few small fish?

Well with your filtration it is already overkill. Doing frequent water changes is a waste of water. I wish people would think about how much water they waste. If you are so concerned about parameters use a kit and if everything is fine and stable don't do any water changes. I'd say in your tank a 25% water change biweekly is ideal.
