First DIY overflows

here's some pics of one of my pvc overflows i'm making. second one still needs the holes drilled. will be painting these w/ krylon fusion and hopefully will soon have the sump ready (can't find friggin bulkhead stuff and lowes:irked:- and i ain't buying real ones- i am poor/cheap;))

it's 1"pvc, i'll probably have at least 2 and maybe add a third depending on how big of a pump i get. there's only a few holes in what will be towards the back relative to the front. water level is determined by the T. (oh and i still have to add the check valve)

What are you going to use it for? I am picturing a turtle tank because of the design.
 
its acually for my 150g. i want to leave ~7" of air above the water for some floating plants and allow space in case my bichirs try to fly :).
