Nice first couple shots, keep at it andkeep us updated.

Lighting is everything. Good taste in camera chose. I would forget the remote flash and grab a cheap tri pod. There is always a shutter delay built in the camera. IMO. As for filters, I just use the clear just to protect the lens. But, B&H has a combo pack. With a polorized, blue, clear and one more.
