Hi, I am very happy as my couple of Brownbanded bamboo sharks have laid their first egg in their 20000 litres saltwater tank.
I have candled the egg and seems fertile as you can see a small embryo inside:

I have put it in a different aquarium that receives the same water from the main tank by an UVC sterilizer.
Here is the courtship:

The short movie was made from above, but the future one will be made by the porthole (it will be easier to see the male biting the female's pectorial fin).
The female has a different bloodline from the male and should lay more and more eggs in the future ;-)

Sweet...I have a guy that sells fish and corals online that wants me to start breeding sharks for him...you have somewhat inspired me. :D

Anyway I still have a doubt as I cannot see a classic ball of yolk, but an unformed mass. I will see with its development and with the next eggs.

Congrats. As time goes, you'll see larger clutches of eggs and higher fertilization rates.

How old/what size for sexual maturity?

Mines are about 1 metre long and three years old. They live in a 20000 litres oval tank (5 metres X 4 metres), I think the space is important to make them swim during the courtship. But I've heard of C. puncatum breeding in smaller tanks.

The female is laying many new eggs, during candiling they seem fertile now (see the yolk in the picture)
