So I've watched a ton of videos and finally worked up the courage to try some things. I had some scrap materials sitting around and an old 10g (my first tank ever) and I decided I wanted to try out making a sump and will be diving it for some bettas.

Holy crap what a disaster. First things that went wrong was I did a horrible job at the first acrylic cut so I had to start over. Second thing is I got silicone ALL OVER EVERYTHING. I wore gloves because I hate trying to get the stuff off my fingers but I mean it's literally all over the back wall. Which I don't really care. Also you can see from above that the acrylic isn't straight it's slightly bowed where the rock is.

Any pointers?

LOL, 10/10 for effort though; looks better than anything I could do!

Think it's the nature of the game with silicone, practise makes perfect of course; could perhaps try making a wooden frame to insert the glass into, hold shape a bit better
