As I stated in the previous thread I am new to flowerhorns after 10 years of keeping various large cichlids. I recently picked up this flowerhorn at what I consider to be the best lfs in the area. This fh is currently under two inches and living in a 150g with a fader of the same size (hiding pics to follow later). This was sold to me as a male kamfa. (he?) is very agressive keeping the (female?) fader in a corner and taking the entire 150 footprint as his own. Again I am new to flowerhorns so I would like some of the expets out there to weigh in on what I have here, his potential and any care tips. To me his colors look good but I see no indication of a kok yet, is it too early to be showing? I have been caring for them the same as I have any of my past cichlids0(dovii, festae, midas/devil,jag). As always any opinions, tips, help is greatly appreciated.

Wow..... Nothing huh

Correct he is a kamfa. Most likely male but never know its too small to actually sex the fish right now. Usually kamfas are late bloomers they'll get a kok later or start showing one later but there are some cases where at 2 inchs they will have a kok showing. It's not too bad see how it turns out. Personally don't think itll have a big kok but sometimes kamfas can pop one all of a sudden.

He's not bad thoough worth keeping for a wihle see how he looks. If you're really looking into getting flowerhorns you can buy them from certain sellers that will have nice quality. If anything more than welcome to msg me.

As of thos morning this Fish began showing Black blotches
Along its bottom mostly in the back half. I assume its going to be a fader.

I dont agree or disagree on the sex as its to early for me personally to tell. Just curious what says female to you

Any other votes on sex if you zoom on some you can see a tiny thing sticking out just in front of the anal fin looked to me too small to be an ovipositor but then again this is a 2” fish. Really hoping to get a positive ID on the gender so I dont waste my time on two fems not too late to return

Zoom in on first pic if you have good enough resolution
