....besides the PetSmart "trimac" I got 2 years ago. As with every flowerhorn I've seen, the pictures don't even come close to how good it looks in person. Not sure if I'm going to put any decor in or not. I do want to try to breed it sometime.

Thanks to Bobby (trying to figure out his name on here) for the fish. He sells quite a few flowerhorns around here and they're all very nice at great prices and imported from Thailand. Look him up if you're looking for a flowerhorn.

I have a fixture in the back with 2 18" hagen Aqua-Glo 18,000K bulbs and a fixture in the front with 1 48" Marine-Glo actinac bulb. Towards the back, the reds come out, but towards the front, the blues come out. I like the red a lot better, but I think the dichotomy is pretty cool, so I don't know if I want to swap the 48" bulb out or not. Unfortunately, I could not get it to be still long enough to show pics under the blue light, but here's what I have for now...

Very nice Paul. Everything about him looks great. I'll bet that red gets even better once he settles in. You are gonna love that guy!

I'll look forward to seeing him in person on Saturday.

thanks, guys. Where are the pix of yours, alden?

Well glad to see you, like Tyler, have finally found something for your 75g:D

Very nice looking FH, hope to see him this Saturday.

i would change the background to blue (should enhance its his color), and use natural colored or bare bottom.

i have heard that about blue, but it's painted, so i'm stuck with that for awhile. I wanted to try the red out and I think it looks good under the current lighting, but it looks too almost flourescent under just the aqua-glo lights. I'm either going to change all to aqua-glo or the 48' to power-glo and if the sand is still like this, I'll switch it out. I think the red goes well with the fish, though and it's a pretty natural color, actually as far as like some deserts and desert streams go, but not natural for most cichlid habitat. Then again, FH's aren't nautural either, lol. Are you suggesting going with different sand to enhance its color or you just like more natural color substrate? I had this sand in another tank and I took it out a while ago.

thanks for the compliment and advice.

Excellent fish. Congrats!
