Between a Rock and a Hard Place...
I decided to explore my new property here that I just moved into last week. I found the creek that my neighbors had told me about. After shining my light around I found a pool with five or six gar in it ranging from 12 inches to approx. 40inches! They showed zero fear of my light and one even let me get my hands around him before skooting away to the center of the pond. :WHOA: Im so dumbfounded right now. I am in Robertsdale Alabama and thus determined them to all be spotted gar. None had the distinct long snout of the LNgar. And I just didnt get the feeling they were gatorgar. Just wanted to share this experience. Im very excited! Maybe Ill bring my net next time to see if i can get a bit closer...

I think there might be spotted gar and gator gar living in the same creek, the fish is the picture is a gator gar!

Ima go catch one. ;) Anyone wanna buy some 12 inch spottedsss? also will add more pics when i go out with an actual camera!

just kidding about people buying them lol. I wont take them from their habitat.

im jealous of myself bro! It was so surreal. I came from Ca where stuff like that doesnt happen...I am still amazed they let me touch them.

Very cool. I have to drive about 40 minutes to a place that has Gator Gars that are like 4' long. The rush when you snag one and bring it on land is amazing. Be careful though, they can do some heavy damage if they bite.
