Today I purchased an 8 inch Malabaricus Wolf. He's residing with larger bichirs a 14 inch Dorado and 13-16 inch cichla. I'll upload pictures soon enough....hes got a great pattern on him. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him bigger faster? Also does anyone have any insight into curbing his aggression towards tankmates at all? I've seen members on here with aimara's and cichla together with rays and other fish in the same tank and all the fish looked pristine, I'm just wondering if theres any secret to this or not...?

Thanks for reading.-Ryan

Looking forward to pics!

The key to aggression control is space and having enough decor that he has the ability to set up a territory that's not the entire tank.

at this size he'll have enough room to have his own little territory.....when he gets big though...might have to move him.

hasn't eaten yet even though I tempted him with live when I treated my dorado to gold fish today....the lights never go completely out in my tank (I leave the LED's on at night) so he's going to have to learn to eat with the lights on.

i would put your wolf by it self ,it would have no problem killing some of your fish i would not take a chance of it destroying your collection. ive raised several. they make good garbagedisposals - cripples/surplus fish.

Don't worry. When I first got my guy, he seemed a little stressed and didn't eat. Everyone told be they would eat anything, so I started to worry. It didn't take long for him to warm up to me though, and now I know why people call them garbage disposals. My guy hits food HARD (especially stuffed silversides). His least favorite meal seems to be shrimp, but he happily takes tilapia. Give him a bit to settle in and I'm sure he'll eat soon.....

I can't really offer advice on aggression. My guy lives in a divided 90 gallon with an electric catfish, and I swear he has tried to dig under the divider to get to the other side. He is an awesome fish, but I'm pretty sure he's pure evil. Although in my Wolf's defense, that catfish is so fat he would probably taste delicious.
