Just bought my first knifefish yesterday(: Hes a 6-7 inch albino clown knife named albus.

He ate more then I thought he would last night... I don't know how he fits so much food in his small body!

Thanks guys... Clown Knife seeing as your name is what it is if you have any tips I'd love them(:

Lol, your lucky to have found and bought an albino ck. I'm jealous...but as far as tips go, choose tankmates wisely...do not house them with aggressive fish especially fish that are territorial. If you want your CK to be happy, provide many hiding places and leave the tank's lights off for a good portion of the day, like at night when you go to sleep (because they are nocturnal and mostly hunt at night). Feed it live foods but not too often or everyday...maybe twice-three times a week (because the more you feed it live food, the higher chances of it catching a disease from a feeder fish...unless you quarantine the feeder fish, then you can feed them live foods more often). I would suggest feeding your CK mainly frozen foods (brine shrimp, bloodworms, mysis, etc). & providing lots of plants, driftwood, and other things that mimic its natural environment is good too; it makes them feel more at home. Remember, they can grow to be very large...about 22-28 inches in home aquaria.

Well, I'm a little curious to how I got him to because I purchased him for 40 bucks at my LFS... would it be more likely hes a golden sold as an albino??

Thanks clownknife... I realized he was nocturnal and hes soooo cool to watch hunt and I quarantine all my feeders of each size for 1-2 weeks before they ever see the big tank(:

Albus also does a reeal good job of getting the aro's leftovers which are usually bloodworms/shrimp ect.

Aren't they awesome
