Hello all you MFK'ers I finally have the opportunity to setup and run a 120 gallon tank, a big increase from my current setups, (2x 10gals, 1x 30gal, 1x 55gal) I have been doing alot of research on what I can stock in and I have seen alot of conflicting info from site to site. I thought I would do best to get some other opinons so here goes:

Wishlist:
Arowana
Stingray
Oscar

1st question: Will there be a large enough enviroment for each fish?
2nd question: Will there be a large enough enviroment for all the fish to co-exist?
3rd question: Will these fish want to co-exist or will I have a tank full of clam chowder? :yuck:

Thanks for any input!

What are the dimensions? An arowana will need a bigger tank. Even a jardini should have a 180 minimum... the rest need an upwards of 240-300 gallons minimum within a couple of years.

the Oscar should be ok, but that's all I see on that list that will work in that tank for more than a growout tank

1st question:Makes an awsome growout for the first 6, maybe 12 months......
2nd question:No......ENough room only for the Oscar and stingray......
3rd question:The fish do co-exist in the wild, and definately are friendly(99% of the time) with each other in captivity.......To keep all thrre together in a thriving situation, they will need a 6ft long, 3 foot wide(front to back) tank...........

Well that's a real downer about the arowana but oh well can't stuff him in there!
About the Ray then: Are there many species of stingray?
Should I stick with one that only gets yay big or are they all around the same size/temperament.

Thanks MFK'ers

Of the types readily available, I believe hystrix rays are one of the smallest options, also pretty affordable.

Ok Ill look into the Hystrix ray!
ONE MORE QUESTION:
Plecos & Rays = Dead Ray?
I know plecos do go after slime coating when hungry, and the more I think about it a ray is probably a holy grail for easy slime harvest. So is keeping a pleco with a ray a bad idea?
