Now that my 250 is done cycling (was going to make it another reef setup, clowns, tangs etc) I happened to walk into the lfs looking for a male bird wrasse and walked out 140 poorer, but proud owner of a new zebra shark.

It's still at the LFS, I want to get my salinity up to where they have it (which should happen over the next week or so) and then it's done and done!!! (jaws theme)

I watched this one for an hour or so today and he ate mysis, krill everything they dropped in there.

So freakin excited!

250??? they r cool sharks. What r ur plans 4 the future

Please tell me you don't mean Stegosoma varium? If so, they will eventually need a tank/pond of at LEAST 20,000g. I hope you have a major upgrade coming in the near future.

And be sure you have EVERYTHING ship shape in your newly established tank (not a good idea for sharks and rays) or else the shark will not be healthy. I highly suggest holding off on any shark until you get your tank to the conditions that can support one.

i hope he means a banded catshark... for the love of mike...

It's labled as a zebra shark (and I'm a she)...but I'll take pics of it. Iwas told 5 feet. I have a 18 foot diameter round pond (actually above ground pool) that is 4 feet deep that this little feller will eventually go into

Post pics as soon as you can. I'm actually relieved to hear you have an 18' diameter pond that he'll eventually call home. That's better than the average shark-keeper can do for their specimens.

I'm in Calgary, and now that I've actually had time to REALLY read (not just google and click) I think it is an indonesian. It looks like a normal bamboo, but instead of two shades of brown it's literally white and grey/off white. Silver eyes and that really lond top of the tail. Either way, I'm in love LOL
