the Office living in the now...
Hello everyone,
I use to lurk around MFK for years and I have not posted anything here in awhile but I am getting ready to set up my first Monster tank with my first sump and was wondering where I should put my heaters.
I have 3x 150 Eheim Jager heaters and was wondering if I should put them in the sump or the main tank?

The tank: 210g glass 2x built in overflow boxes 6ft long
Sump: 40g Breeder tank 3ft long, media: 40L Siporax sintered glass, Wool/Jap mat.
Canister: Eheim 2260, Bio media: 10L Eheim substrate Pro, 5L Eheim Mech cr, 5L Eheim green floss like material, Eheim wool.

This is my first Monster tank ever... I have had experience with tanks of 55 gal and under for over 20 years and finally getting my chance to house Monsters. I have always wanted one as a child and now as a captain of my own ship, I Finally have one. I will keep you guys posted on my project.

Future stock list (not in stone, things always change as I learn): silver/black arowana (I live in the usa, I want an asian so bad :( ), Datnoids, tiger shovel nose catfish, Peacock bass, Sting ray, Blood Parrots, Silver Dollars.

that looks awesome! how much did it run u..(If u don't mind me asking) and did u get it online?NIce dog also..hope he doesnt scratch up ur Beautiful stand though..better watch him!

Hey Bomber I have a similar sized tank and I keep my heaters in the sump. Once there are good covers on the sump you should have no evaporation problems.

drop the m in the sump that way you don't have to see them in the tank and there will be no chance of the monsters breaking them. Looks like a nice set up good luck

Thanks for the comments. This stand was made here in Ohio from an Amish Guy tha does great wood work. Hidden heavy duty hinges and the doors have some type of hydralic stopper on them so you can not slam the doors to scare the fish. Well not as loud anyways. And Yes I mind, Why you trying to count my money Rayshot1. :grinno:

Nice congrats to you man! An all new setup too this should be a lot of fun setting this thing up . I love setting up new tanks :)

And siporax media too! Bling Bling :)

WOW:WHOA::WHOA::WHOA: Nice tank man. I also have the heaters (2 250w) in my sump. Man that looks awesome. Now for the fun part of setting it up. GL

I say ditch the TSN, they grow too massive and will outgrow the peacocks and probably hurt your rays.
