Ive never bred cichlids before but I think I've heard that they will consume their last batch of fry when they lay eggs for a new batch. Im hoping someone more experienced can shed some light on this and if thats the case I hope you would have a place you could move them to. Because id really like to see them grown out a bit!

How large are the biggest fry? Are they showing any colors yet?

Cool parents hope the fry turn out to be nice!

Biggest is about 2.5 in and yes they have colors, red top fins and blue/green in the face. Some have blue bottom fins and red heads

and yea i have removed 90% of them into a separate 20G tank. Got about 200 in there and like 20 left downstairs in the 220 just to see what will happen and if the parents will eat them, they've been chasing them so i think its safe to say they will be eaten if they don't hide

Yes I would say you're right, especially if they have spawned again.
I have found with my festae that they would let the older spawn live peacefully until they have another spawn.

I guess they see the older fry as a threat to the new ones.
