Ok so I am getting ready to order some Peacocks from Jeff Rapps. I am thinking of ordering 6 or 7 Pinimas. Will a 125 be good for them for a month or two? As far as temp and all that I see a lot of people keeping thir juvies fairly warm, Rapps says 78 is best. Just want some opinions. I have a 220 to move them to after the 125 is too small. I will be using a large 40 gallon sump as well as a Fluval FX5 for filtration. UV sterilizer as well. Anything I am missing?

The 125 and the 220 should be good for about a year or so. You could reduce the fish count and maybe get a little more time than that out of it. Pinima get real big real fast, youll need 500g or more to keep 6 adults. Temp for juv. MUST be 85-87 to prevent ich and other parasites. Your filtration sounds like it is good enough, for now.

How big are the bass your picking up? Alot of people on here like to keep there temps at 86 dagrees to provent ick.

im getting some 2 from jeff lol what are u getting ?? monos or others ?>

I was thinking of the Pinimas Rapps has.

I will be building a fish barn with 20 tanks that will be around 1200 gallons each. I am going to try to breed the peacock bass. The barn will not be for just the peacock bass. My website is aquaticmadness.com most of my stock is dead(long story) you can refer to the afrcan cichlid forum if you aren't up to date on my situation.

Time to rebuild since I moved and she let my fish die before I could move them(she being the ex).

you sound like you will be ok but 78 degree temperature is a little too low for juvi cichla imo, you will run into some problems.. 86-87 is the safe side.... also remember that cichla like soft water and since they are wild fish i like to acclimate them slow

i read the thread soory about the loss though and ive got 1 mono im trying 2 get 1 more just having spear money atm isent it lol. there £35 english pounds thats about $55 i gess how much is this setting u back ?

i would get fewer so that you dont need to worry about upgrading anytime soon

I'm not worried about having to upgrade. I have 100 empty tanks sitting at my ex girls house. Building the barn itslf will set me back about 150,000. I lost roughly 20,000 dollars in fish so I am basically at square one. It will be a year until I can start building the barn so I want to make sure I can house them properly until then. I have 2 - 220 gallon empty tanks, a 265 galon empty tank and 2 - 125 galon empty tanks. Seems like it should be sufficient for now for 6 - 12 peacocks. I just bought a group of 11 adult Zebra Plecos so between them and a wild caught group of Moba Frontosa in anoher 265 gallon tank I still have enough room right?
