Over the weekend my girlfriend and I divided a 10 gal. tank for our three bettas. We also decided to make it our planted tank since they weren't doing as well in the other tanks. We have pool filter sand as our gravel, it works awesome. Our bettas really seem to like their new tank. For the divider I cut a piece of plexi glass to fit the tank and then drilled holes in it for water circulation. Its so much easier to have filtration, they don't get as gross as fast.

:tropicalfEnjoy and let us know what you think.

how big are the holes? (in the divider) would the bettas occasionally see each other through them and flare up? Or are the holes to tiny.
They definatly appreciate the bigger housing...there actually swimming around unlike most bettas that just sit at the bottom of a tiny little bowl.

ya the whole divider is clears so the males can see eachother and they flare almost constantly. the female gets bullied around now that the 2 males are wanting to fight.

I was gonna say that the female looked kinda frightened. I'd keep an ee on them make sure the males arn't to stressed, and taht the female does't get picked on to much. Other then those possible problems you have a wonderful tank. :)

nice bro...i bet thinking about gettin me some show quality bettas!!!gl

We found a tiny snail in our 55 gal tank and decided to put him in the planted tank because he'd be easier to keep track of. He's on the leaf in the corner of the picture..

When we went to the local fish store we noticed a tiny snail cleaning the sides of his tank, we asked the girl if they were selling them or if we could get it. She gave it to us, so now we have a tiny snail on each side of the 10 gal planted tank. The second one was two tiny to focus in on with the camera so we didn't get any pictures of it.
