Been ticking away at this for the last week after work. Totally forgot to take progress photos but here is where I'm up to. first coat of black enamel is on, planning on a light sand once this is dried to take out some of the imperfections then re coat. Shopping around for the front viewing glass haven't happened upon a good deal yet.

The tank is built using 18mm marine ply for the base and 30mm radiata pine ply for the sides at only 600mm high I think it should do the job. The whole outside is braced with oak for peace of mind. I screwed all the ply together with 75mm batten screws 75mm apart with a stainless decking screw between each one for good measure.

I water proofed the inside and top of the tank with a rubberized product from Bunnings called pond seal colour. It recommended 2 coats I did 6 to be safe. I used there nylon reinforcment in all the joints not fun to work with at all I might add.

Tank dimensions are 225cm x 100cmx 60cm

All I have left to do is the glass, 2 centre braces and decide on plumbing I've never set up a sump before any suggestions on bulk head size for drain and return would be appreciated. IMG_20170827_173159.jpg IMG_20170827_173317.jpg
