So the bottom of my 125 gallon glass aquarium cracked about two weeks ago :irked: which got the wheels turning for this project. The plan is to use 3 panes of glass from the 125 as viewing windows and add an "addition" to the back of it. I will seal the tank using a pond liner. Here are the lay out and dimension plans:

The tank will be 2' tall. These dimensions should bring the tank to 250+ gallons. Here are some pics from progress made yesterday and today:

These pics are from day one. The second was a glass "fitting".

These pics are from today. The framing for the glass is complete. The triangles on top are what I will be using for cross bracing. Much of this project was inspired by the 45 degree angle ;)

So far I'm about $300 in and this includes the wood, adhesives, some tools I needed, and the pond liner. Shouldn't cost too much more to get this thing running. Liner will be here sometime next week and I will load some progress pics then. All comments are welcome.

Wow that's inspiring, I might get some 8x4 acrylic sheets and do this to a wall in my house after reading this. Ok maybe not but very creative and inspiring design. Keep up the good work

Thanks. The design was more or less out of necessity. If it were up to me the tank would have been a 6x4 rectangle. But making it a corner tank was the only way I could convince my fiance that it wasn't "too big" for the room
