I just picked up my first Polypterus along with an African brown knife (has anyone tried this combo?). Currently they are in quarantine in a 29g tank, but I plan to move them both to a 125g when they get a little bigger. The LFS told me they fed them frozen blood worms. Should I try pellets from now or stick with frozen blood worms?
Here's the picture of the little guy, hes around 2-3 inches

bichirs and African knives are a good combo. just make sure they are simalar sizes. get the bichir on pellets and fish fillet. bloodworms aren't really nutritious.

As said previous they are addicting. It looks to be captive breed so pellet training should happen relatively easily. Mine took nls pellets right away but, my wild caught haven't touch them yet.

The addiction has started! Nice del.
I have that combo and you'll be fine. Those 2 can be together for life, but when you one day get an ornate or some type of lower jaw bichir, that's when your knife will be in danger.

Nice start to one of the best addictions you can get, the poly!!!!!
Looks good, and I would get on to pallets asap, I started mine about that size on massivore that was broken up real small, made them put on weight real quick.

2mm nls sinking is what I use for mine at that sizw. You could get away with 3mm probably as well.
