First polys

Picked up my first 2 polys about a month ago. Regular sens. But was curious if its normal that about 90 percent of the time , if they arent looking for food, they chill at the surface in a clump of floating hornwort

Nvm you got them today, just let them settle in first, once the start to swim around they will start looking for food, what food are you offering?

They eat well frozen brine, krill, and omega one cichlid pellets.

I would try to offer tilapia fillet, market shrimp or carnivore pellet, they are noctural fish so most of the time they eat more during lights off.

It was my understanding that theyre nocturnal, just found it curious that they choose to hang out up top.

Some poly will do that when you have floating plant, especially when they are small, they feel safer on top hiding inbetween the floating plant. Do you have other fish in there with them?

mine are active all day. make sure theres room at the top for them to get air. make sure you don't have any holes they can escape through in your top. welcome to the sickness!
