Hey Folks,

lot of great info on this forum. The past 6 months i have been raising 3 peacocks and 2 oscars in a 75 gallon tank. All of them are about 5 inches long now, so my 220 gallon is coming in next week. Im looking to transfer everything to the 220 shortly. Will this be large enough to support these 5 fish for the next few years? Also i was thinking about adding a freshwater stingray to the mix. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh and i also have a Pleco in there.

First of all: Welcome to the forum!

Is your 220 the standard 72"x24x30 (length x width x height)? Peacock bass would outgrow those dimensions fairly quickly, as would any freshwater stingray. If it's the 72x30x24, then the extra 6" of width will help you out a lot.

The 220 is the standard 220. The tank will have a drain line going right into the drain line in the house and also and water intake that's connected to the water system. My water is well water and is pretty good quality. I've been raising fish in multiple tanks for years and never use any water condishners which is a big help.

Yeah, you're probably going to need another upgrade before too long. You might have a year or two left, depending on how big those peacocks are right now, but I wouldn't add a ray into the mix until you have an upgrade lined up.
