I've been browsing the site, and decided to join...just started a new tank...I've got a pleco, 2 angel fish, 1 dalmation molly, and 1 dinosaur bichir...I just noticed today that my pleco has this sore on his head...any ideas? suggestions? should I be majorly concerned?

It looks like the Pleco may have injured itself possibly getting wedged in between a ornament. I suggest you take a sample of water to the LFS to be tested until you get a freshwater test kit.

Salt ?. Welcome

I could definitely see him possibly injuring himself, I've seen him wedging himself in a couple of pretty tight spaces, so that wouldn't be suprising.

Aquarium salt, may be 1 tablespoon per 5g ?

should be on the back, info

Thanks for the help all, I've been keeping a pond for quite some time, so I am moderately competent, but it's been a while since I've had an aquarium!

Keep a watchful eye and follow what the others have advised. Maybe removing the decor temporarily would help.
