Greetings All!

I am excited about joining this site.

I decided to make my first post here because I am primarily interested in monster catfish.

I fell in love with Pangasius Sutchi catfish about two years ago. I am tired of them being written off as "tank busters". I love these bug-eyed beauties.

I have a ridiculously small tank for my catfish collection. A 75 gallon setup.
I'm doing my best for them with the means that I have.

Having a Hydrocorala (sp?) propellor to create currents seems to help in this environment for now.

I have dreams of being able to own a 300 or more gallon tank someday where my catfish could live a better life.

Unfortunately-my life is unstable right now. I am in financial crisis and have a myriad of personal struggles which take prescedence over being able to upgrade anytime in the near future.

I want to take care of my Monster Catfish as best I can for as long as I can in this dinky little insufficient tank-then find them new homes when the time comes.

Welcome aboard!

Have 5 Pangasius Sutchi Catfish (Irridescent Sharks) about 6-8 inches long (my beloved's) 4 Sun Catfish (3 in-7 inches each) 1 Midnight Catfish (about four inches each) 2 Debauwi Catfish (about 1 1/2 inches each) 1 Striped Raphael Catfish (about 3 inches) 2 spotted Plecos (one is about 6-7 inches the other about 3 inches) 1 Blue Pleco (about 2 inches) 1 Golden Dojo Loach (about 7 inches) 1 green colored dojo loach (about 6 inches)

If you're that overstocked, I'd be doing daily water changes for sure. At least 20% a day. How are your nitrAtes right now?

Calling all Pangasius Sutchi Catfish experts and enthusiasts:

I want to get connected with other folks who love these common yet fantastic beasts.

It seems converting a swimming pool into a fish tank would be the ideal way to see these monsters grow to their full potential.

Unfortunately-even a 300 or more size tank for me right now seems beyond my financial reach. Someday.

My little school of five is okay for now. They are all under 7 inches.

Most of their tank companions have huge growth potential as well- the Sun Cats and the plecos in particular.

Question: Would having a propeller designed for a larger tank be a bad idea? Right now I have a Hydrocoral magnetic propellor designed for my size tank. Everyone in my tank seems to like the propeller I have. I was thinking: as my Monster Catfish get larger-maybe a more powerful propellor would allow them to get better excercise and extend there stay in my too-small tank?
