hey, just found this site yesterday after google'ing information on Oscars. fact is, I've always wanted one, well technically i wanted to 2, one albino and one red.

Currently, i have a 60 gallon aquarium up and running with about 7 cichlids. i'm really debating giving away the fish on craigslist.com, and getting Oscars.

Originally, i thought i could at least put 2 O's in a 60 gallon, but after doing some research that idea required at least a 120 gallon tank (no problem, i could sell the 60 and get a bigger tank) but then after doing more research people don't recommend getting 2 because with age they could possible get aggressive towards each other. :(

so now, i'm thinking of just keeping the 60 gallon, getting one albino Oscar and doubling up my filtration by picking up another Fluval 305. if i do this, can i put in another tank mate? or would the O have to be alone?

OR... i could sell the 60 gallon, pick up the 120 gallon that i originally wanted for 2 O's, but instead get one O and another big fish?

sorry for the long post, hope someone can help me. thanks in advance!!

bud i would go with a bigger tank before you do any of that....even one oscar will outgrow a 60 gallon...most have a 12 inch width and thats not enough for a full grown oscar. A lot of people say one can live in a 75 by himself for life but I would go minimum 125 gallon even for one oscar as im sure you will get tankmates for him in time anyway...and if you do get one in the 60 gallon FOR SURE get more filtration one 305 is not enough
