Picked up a 125 and everything needed for salt...tank was setup as salt and just taken down and sold...doing a leak test and figured out the sump in my garage as ive NEVER used a sump before so im learning. now my question is, my main sump will be a wet dry in one chamber and my heaters and return pump in the other chamber(eshopps 2 chamber sump)...now I have 2 other smaller sumps(eshopps single chamber) and overflows, so would it be beneficial at all to put my skimmer and another return pump in another sump and run it that way, or does it have to be in the sump im using for my wet dry? i also have over 90 pounds of live rock ill be using as well. New to salt, so dont beat me here...thanks

Wow. You've been around since 09 and have never had to wait for an answer...how lucky are you? The salt section is slower than the rest of the forum. And some of the 47 views probably weren't even members of the forum. You ever notice at the bottom of the main forum page how there are like a million users but only 200 are members? Same principle... Have you ever been on AC? Talk about a slow salt section! Holy cow!

To at least partially answer your question (as I am a student too): I don't know about using multiple sumps, however I do know that you want your sump to be no less than 30% of the DT's volume, the larger, the better. If using more than one sump, I don't know how you'd plumb them together without having a mess of either water or PVC. I'd advise getting a used tank and DIYing a sump from scratch. Its not too difficult or labor intensive. Best of luck! :)

Highly possible and I would run both. I assume they're acrylic? Drill the sides of them and link them together with bulkheads and about 4" of PVC. Then put your overflow in on end skimmer in the middle and return other end.
