hey everyone i just got my first salt tank a few days ago from my friend, its a 16gal nothing special but i plan on upgrading to a 55 very soon once i get the hang of it.
i currently have 2 blue damsels in there what fish are compatible with them?

depend on what kinds of fishs you wanna keep in that 55GAL but i think it would be fine, they got room to roam.

get rid of the damsels, and then do some researching and see what fishes you enjoy.... Then come ask us and we'll let you know.:D

While your waiting just make sure your tank is fully cycled, the problem a lot of new salties have is just throwing in fish right away and then having something go wrong and that puts them off of SW, because they think its "too hard"

^ :iagree: my first 2 attempt at SW fail miserably.. both to ick i believe but i stuck with it and now im addicted which is kind of a double-edged sword :D

so the 2 damsels are in the 16? for right now i think that's pretty much filled up.. once you get the 55 you c an add some more..

blue damsels i think are pretty mellow, mine seemed fine with a clown and 2 firefish as well with my 2 neoglyphodon damsels which are almost legendary for being major @holes

Well all damsels are notorious for being territorial, and some can be exceedingly aggressive. They usually settle down and will be fine community members once the pecking order is established though. If you want to keep them, then I suggest that once your 55gal is up and running smooth, that you make them the last addition so that they do not stake out the whole tank and bully new arrivals. Not much else you can put into your 16 other than some cleaners (Snails, Crabs), and perhaps a hardy soft coral or two, like a small colony of Zoanthids or Mushrooms.
