Exciting day for me ! The first sight of my new G.steindachneri fry. The pair spawned 13 days ago, so I was actually expecting not to see them for a few more days (from what I'd read anyway). Maybe she was just getting too hungry, having not eaten for those 13 days !
I couldn't believe how many, and how big they were ! No wonder she's had such a mouthful for all this time.
She is wild caught BTW. THe dad is a particularly handsome chap from a captive bred line. He has actually just spawned with another female in a different tank yesterday (although I think my spiny eel got a fair few of the eggs !)
Hoping to get some better pics tomorrow but here they are today .....
