Just got my first couple of rainbow snakeheads.i get alot of mixed responses about the correct temp to keep them at,if any one has a try n tested good water temp would be very helpful....there in a 5x2x2 is ther any other sub tropical fish than snakeheads tht can happily co-exist?? uploadfromtaptalk1341863639719.jpguploadfromtaptalk1341863655200.jpg

HI hasu,

Your are right, these are "rainbows", Channa bleheri.

kepp them in an unheated tank, so the temperature falls in winter to 17°C and rises in summer up to 25-27°C.
Do not overfeed them, and please add a lot hiding places to your tank.

alot of plants and broken terra cotta pots just like Brucki said. They need to have cover when they need it. the plants will break up the whole tank view for the fish thats dominant.
Water changes every week as you know im sure, they're predators so alot of waste!
Good luck theyre an awesome fish

Thanks ive never done a planted tank though if its a must for them it will be done.theres alot of driftwood in atm for them to hide.two of them have paired up under the nearest bit in the picuploadfromtaptalk1341867055441.jpg :)

Plastic plants work, just make sure they look real for your piece of mind. Fake plants are only as ****ty as they look IMO.

Cloudy eye on the fish could be due to water quality. It does look kind of murky in there.

add aquarium salt to cure the cloudy eye.
