I am new to the world of saltwater tanks and figured I would start with a small setup from my local pet shot. I am going to try using a fluval 2 gallon tank with LED's and the filter built in. I already have the water cycling to bring it to a safe level to put fish in. I was looking for some advice on what to put in it as far as anemones, fish, and cleaners.

Be extremely patient and read as much as possible. I sent up a 20g and soon became overwhelmed. Im glad I got it out of the way, but next time I will so things much differently.

My favorite sites were 3reef.com and reefcentral.com

For your first venture into saltwater, you picked a difficult tank to work with. Not much water or room. Things can go bad quickly. Get some live rock and see if you can keep it alive before wasting money on other living things. Best thing you can do is read. Lots of info on the internet on mini nano tanks.

Thank you for the input. I was planning on upgrading the LEDs and putting one or 2 coral in there and target feeding them with a little cleanup crew. MAYBE putting a small fish like a velvet damsel for example and trading it for another small fish when/if it gets too big.

That is almost helpful to me. Any specifics or advice...?

It's not that I don't want to help, it's just too much to type in one post. I really don't find mine to be very difficult but i researched for a solid year before doing anything.

Read the articles here: http://www.nano-reef.com/articles/

This is a real step-by-step and the best you're going to get for getting this going and being successful.
