So I am planning to set up a tank in my man cave. This will be the first tank I have run in about 6 years, used to do discus and brackish. I am thinking I would like to do native trout, preferably brooks. I know I need cold water, the tank will be in the basement, ambient temperature is in the low 60s, so I think Im on the high end of what a brook trout can stand, my next choice is rainbows then browns. The tank is a standard 75 gal that I plan to run a Rena XP3 and maybe a diatom filter. First question is anyone have any suggestions for getting hatchlings? I want to do this above board so I am thinking hathery or store instead of out of the river. Second what kind of flow rate is required, food, substrate, how much oxigination, etc. Any advice would be appreciated.
