Hi guys, I recently bought my first tank
40x16x20 inches or 100x40x50 cm
i have no practical experience but I’ve read a lot about pretty much everything about the hobby and I’ve become really interested about it.
I’d like to know some species of fish (community or not,I can consider a single species tank) that are quite hardy and can live with the hardness of my tap water
Gh=15,5 Kh=16

thanks a lot

Welcome aboard

A Smaller African Cichlid species preferably from lake Malawi.
A smaller Central American Cichlid specie as well.
Non CICHLID
Swordtails or Molly's

Also what fish species do you like?

I don’t really like swordtails and mollies to be honest,while I’m quite interested in cichlids.
What kind of Central Americans could I keep?

I would recommend the Convict Cichlid for a starter specie.
Pros very hardy
Cons breeds very easily
For the size of your aquarium would just add one particular species.
