ive been a fish owner, for many years but never have tried breeding. i have alot of 5, 10, and 20 gallon tanks lying around as well filters, decor, the vast majority of the needed stuff for setting up extra tanks, my question is what should i try, something easy and relativly cheep and quick to start up (ive heard of people paying $500 + for breeding pairs) im not looking to pull a profit but it would be nice to raise something that i could sell / give away so im not stuck with a ton of extra fish. any ideas or input would be great, thanks.

for a 20 gallon, you can always try breeding apple snails. Those are really easy to breed, but almost no one wants them. Zebra danios are really easy to breed, but they usually eat their eggs. Halfbeaks are difficult to breed, but will fit in a 20 gallon. almost any other livebearer is really easy to breed. Bettas are somewhat easy to breed except if they don't like eachother and kill the other one. I've gotten cory catfish to spawn once or twice in a 10 gallon, but they don't do it often, and the eggs never seem to survive getting eaten.

apistogramma cacautoides, you can come across a pair of these, they are dwarf cichlids, not expensive but not cheap i have not personally breed them but know 2 people who have and have had great results in terms of selling the offspring at relatively decent prices

what are the most fofilling fish to breed, even if i need to spend a bit to do it.
This is a trick question. I may find breeding dwarf cichlids very rewarding, however another person may dispise these fish and prefer to breed little teras, For example.
