first time keeping shellies

I heard about shellies and i want to buy a 30gallon and keep them. I was thinkin 1 male to 5 females. I wld put 6 total in the tank 1 male 5 females. I dont knw alot about them. I want a rare kind too. Anyone got ideas. Like the name of a rare type i cld do more research on? I have got alot of help from Matt724. But i need some good sites for information and any ideas anyone has. Thnx for any help i get!

not sure havent ever kept these guys like previously said im sure you will get alot more help in the african section
 
Lamprologus Brevis is a nice species. A 5:1 female to male ratio is good too. Use a sand substrate and have a bunch of shells for them. I like a 2:1 shell to fish ratio to give them options. Other than that they're not that hard to care for IMO. Good luck. I'm sure Mike or Bobby in the Rift Lake Forum can help a little more.
