G'day all

I will probably be going offshore fishing in a few weeks from now and just wanted to know what must haves you should take. My rod is a small one, a red wolf something or rather. Will it be okay for fishing? I don't want a snapped rod, thats for sure, and not snapped line after snapped line.

What type of line should I take? I will be taking a 50lbs or so line on a handline for shark fishing too, since it will be early morning :D

as long as the rod is a boat rod you should be fine.

it all depends what your going for. i wouldnt use gear i use for grouper if i was going for wahoo. there are times you can use light gear like for dolphin or mackerel.

Boat rod

Dunno what we are going for, we don't know whats out there :p I do wanna try for some tuna though :)

That is what I was told by a fellow shark fisherman. IDK if it works or not but he swears. BTW he did say 50 to 100lbs

catch me a moray

you can use 50lb but your leader should be wire. i hooked a 6ft hammerhead on 40lb, but lost him at the boat when he rolled. his skin just shredded the line. either way its a lot of fun, one word of advice stock up on 50 or higher spf lotion.:)

Sunnyscreen for sure.

Yeah 1m wire trace too. I have no idea what I can catch lol. Dunno what runs up and down the coast at different time of year.
