SO PUMPED, getting the last gold dust (beuttokoferri) palmas from JA soon as we can hammer out a good pickup date because I work a lot. Ive raised my Ornate from 2 inches and ive never ordered any fish online before let alone specifically poly, anything different i should do? or should i just follow the same procedure as if i got them from the store? (quarantine for a little, introduce to the tank) maybe put a little stress coat in since hes been shipped and was probably stressed out? I truly cannot wait for this guy, having a more active (i hope so at least, if not still a beautiful addition) poly has been a quest of mine since i lost my first sen. Trying to find something unique and new around here, and even my buddy who breeds Ornates (well used to, now hes attempting weeksi, where i got my ornate) never saw one before and this guy is perfect, the contrast from gold specks to white dots will be awesome! (my ornate is only 7 inches btw and kevin tells me its plenty fat enough to handle him)

thanks for the help guys, i really dont want to mess this guy up by missing something i should have done!

I got my Palmas and Buettikoferi from JA too, just last week. All I did was run a drip for 15 minutes to acclimate them with my water before moving them to my tank. I didn't quarantine or anything. But only because JA is a reputable vendor that I trust will only give me a healthy, good quality poly.

I don't use stress coat so I can't say if that will help or not. I did use Prime the day before they arrived because that was my water change day.

Hope you'll post pics of your new poly when you get it! :)

Of course! my tanks almost finished being remodeled so im going to post my collection when i get this guy in, i figured QT may not be required because JA is such a good reputable dealer. Cant wait to see all 3 of my displays chilling w/ each other, Rainbow hi fin Wolf fish, Ornate bichir, and soon to be gold dust. The rainbow isnt nippy at all, in th nearly half year ive had the combo the only one whos gotten nipped has been the wolf. He tries to pile with the Ornate and he accepts for a while but then scoots off. I really hope i can get a good pic of all 3 piling!
