Looking at getting 2 or 3 L66's. two for 55 or 3 for 80. Do you for see any problems or concerns? My tank is acrylic I have heard only tree eating pleco's are bad for it.

I have this stock.

1 8" Oscar
1 5" Texas
1 4.5" Jack Dempsy
4 7" Bala Sharks
1 5" Rainbow shark
1 3" Firemouth
1 3" Jewel

Only normal agression I see is daily tussling between the Oscar and Texas. And random tussling between the Firemouth and Jewel, the jewel and firemouth get along 90% of the time, the agression looks more like one of them had a bad day and the other bumped into it.

Wow that's a lot of stock for a 55 or 80, what is the footprint of the 80. I know a 75 is 48x18, and that is still a lot of stock. What kind of filtration are you running?

Thats the price not the tank. Two of them for $55.00 or three of them for $80.00 I would punch myself in the face for buying an acrylic 55 gallon, one could buy 3 or 4 glass 55's for the price of one acrylic.

So I take it other then the fact the tank size was misunderstood there is no other issues with the current stock and the l66?

So that entire stock list is in a standard sized 55? Even without the pleco's you are overstocked in my opinion. Also you never mentioned what filters you are running.

OMG ITS NOT A 55 GALLON TANK !!!!!! THAT IS THE PRICE the tank is 84x24x26 please if you have nothing helpful to say about the question feel free to not post.

I agree it's a little small for a 55. Surely your oscar will eat the plecos. I would also keep a tight lid on the aquarium as oscars are known to jump out and attack their owners (usually when they are unsatisfied with the aquarium decor).

I think everyone is a bit confuse on your post,in my opinion don't bother with that pleco at all,if you truly need a pleco for your set up.I say go for the common pleco.I had a acrylic 55 gallon and the common pleco couldn't scratch the glass one bit from what I seen. Also in my honest opinion plecos are a waste for a Cichlid set up,I have a 9 inch Pleco with a 10 inch Tiger Oscar in a 125 gallon.Which my Oscar barely goes after anyone else, but everytime he see's that pleco,he goes after it right away.

Okay thank you kindly for your advise, these l66 to my understanding only get to be 5" is that correct? I have an empty 55 that I have been thinking about setting up as planted tank. So I guess thats what will do get these guys and maybe like 20 neons and have a low tech planted.

From what I remember they grow about 5 in half inches. They are really gorgeous to have, but yours may end up dead being with Cichlids.I wouldn't risk that, but since you have a empty 55 gallon, you can easily add the l66 with neons or silver dollars would be great too, also you're welcome.
