I have a yellow zebra chiclid that i thoought was wayyyy to small to have babies. i would say that she is like 3 in long and i noticed last sunday 6/15 im not sure when she became pregnant but i dont think it was to long before that. i have already bought a net breeder and have read up that i should wait 21 days before i strip the fry. i was wonering wat i should feed the babies and any other advice would be greatly appreciated. I just wana say that this is my fisrt chiclid pregnancy. This is also the fisrt time for the fish.

Only mouthbrooder I ever bred was a Yellow Lab, I put the mom and fry in a large breeder net and fed them newly hatched brine shrimp and crushed Cichlid Gold. I watched them closely and when I noticed the fry no longer retreated to the mothers mouth when I came up to the tank I removed the mom and raised the fry for a while longer then moved them to a 20 gal to grow out a bit.

I always feed my new fry, WARDLEY-SMALL FRy. it liquid food for livebearers & egglayers. I've been using it for years. you can get it at your lfs.
