First wolfish in 25 years.....ID help please??

I picked up this 4-5" little beauty today......Been a long time since I had a wolf. I am guessing Hoplias Malbaricus.......the local fish store sold simply as Wolfish. Any help confirming identity? TY very much!

That looks like the same species that I had about twenty years ago which also was simply labled "wolf fish" ....probably a mala.

Yeah back then the shops around here only brought in that "common" wolf species.

Not much to acclimate....already chowing down frozen krill! My Big Lenticulata is totally ignoring it.

Think most brought in are malabaricus. Forgot someone posted >90%. Has odd patterns, folds are off or head shapes then consider something else.

That’s a good thing. Hope they cont to ignore each other. Especially after the lights go out.

Mine ate a mouse the first night it was in the tank.
