Damn don't like that either. Fish aren't meant to be hung in bags. They belong in a tank....

I saw some Discus in some of those tanks. I looked pretty good but couldn't tell if there were any in bags. Although some of those fish in the bags had some bright coloring............

I've been there. It's kinda crazy how they have all those fish prepackaged ready for a quick sale. Yes, they do have discus in those bags hanging on the walls. It's rediculous as some of the fish like the discus are kept in bags so small they really can't move. I don't understand how they keep them alive so well. The fish in those bags probaly take turns hanging and are rotated out daily or in a few hours with some kind of chemical that must help keep them relaxed. Their are so many types of fish in those bags not just goldfishes.
To be honest though when I went there I didn't spot many dead or sick fish at all! I actually can't recall checking it out and saying/thinking "look, that fish is sick/dead" I see more dead, sick, and dying fish at the LFS around here than at that market. In fact thinking about it... the stores on that street were immaculate. I can't think of one store on Oahu that comes close to the cleanliness, and even health of the livestock that I saw on that street!? Judging by appearances the fish being sold were in superb condition. If you get a chance to go there it is really cool. The selection is HUGE (a whole d@mn street!) and the fish really are beautiful and in solid condition. For example look at that imaculate marine tank with those super healthy angels!? Those things cost a pretty penny and to not care for them and let them die... would be an insane move on the part of a buisness. You better believe they do care for their fish, and probably more/better than most LFS in the state and ALL of the big box stores that sell fish.
I was so jealous... Imagine a whole street dedicated to fish keeping, where you can find anything your heart desires at rock bottom prices...
