So I think I read back somewhere that fish can't see a red flourescent light, so if you placed one over your tank, it would be like the fish were blind to it, and you could see their nightly activities. Is this true?

What else can anyone tell me about anything like this?

fish can see all spectrums of light the difference of sight is related to air and water certain colors dissappear in water especialy in murky water the myth that fish cant see red is because red is the first spectrum to disappear in water

a red flourescent light should be dim enough that the fish would not be bothered by it and you could make out thier activity you could put some tin foil with holes under it to further dim it

imo i would use blue leds they are sold as kits in the lfs for recreating moon cycles to induce spawing in salt water fish have a set in my strip light creates a nice glimmering look to the tank in the eveving hope this answers your question fnh.....

The white moon lights are nicer in my opinion. I have them on my reef.
