I used to feed my fish those little peices of shrimp that you put in salad ( the ones without the shells) well, i heared that shrimp with the shell is better for the fish. So when I ran outa the small shrimp i bought some new shrimp with the shell and my fish dont seem to like it. The dats wont touch it and the arowanas will only eat it if its at the top of the water and only eat like one peices. My lima wont even eat it! Do they just have to get used to it? or should i just go out and buy some mroe of the old shrimp.

Well, i dont peel them but my mom said hold on and brought some peeled ones in ( she loves my smaller dat cuz hes the baby of the tank) and she dropped some in and the larger dat tore a peice up but i dont think he ate it. The oscar and clown knife eat them but thats about all... I'll try again wend and see how they like it.

i've never heard that the shell is good for them. the calcium maybe? I dunno. I would just go back to peeled shrimp

I feed my fish krill, I think they have the shell on them. They eat whole ghost shrimp live and you can't peel live shrimp. I guess my fish don't know any better.

shell or no shell , keep in mind raw shrimp make a better food than cooked
