hi im kinda new to this i got two questions
first i i have a 6" salmon oscar he lives with 2 african munbas and one peacok chilid and two common pleco's in a 90gal its a standerd 48x24x18 tank and i wanna kno if i should. well i wanna get a jaguar chilid to live with (beefy) my oscar???would they get along ok??? im getting rid of one of the plecos its like 1' and the munba chilids there going into a 70 eny way back to the other fishies whould they be alright.?

num 2
i own 3 red bellys and they live in the 70 i was talkin about its 36x18x24 but i want more foot print like a 90 it would be better i think for them to live in for a long while well thats about it feed back me plz need to kno.

90 isnt enough for a jag and an oscar to establish their own territories. There is a slim chance that it would work, but I'm guessing one will beat the hell out of the other.

And I'd get rid of both Plecos if you aren't attached to them. They are bigger poo machines than the Oscar. You bio load will thank you.

i agree with Bud8Fan, get rid of the common plecos.
they grow too big and are way to messy for the avg aquarium.
i have a 90g that used to house 2 oscars and a com. pleco.
i adopted out the pleco and my general water conditions improved. ( not to mention no more 12" poop strings floating around)
my 2 oscars are lucky enough to get along, but a 90g being only 4ft long
there is def potential for territory agressions with your oscar and a jag.
IMO i think its a 50/50 they will get along, and best to have a backup plan.

thx for feed back in future how much would in need to house both ?? i rlly wanna try beefy my oscar is very passive i need to find a passive jag maybe???

what else would clean my tank bottom?? other then plecos loach's?

anything on baby p's is 90 to small?

I kept syndontis (upsidedown catfish) with my oscar, and they quickly took my attention away from the oscar. Very cool fish. They have also outlived two oscars and have really cool fins. Now I have them with a breeding pair of convict chichlids and they are good together. The syndontis are also very active and fun to watch. My play tag, and we watch for hours.

IMHO, a 90 gallon is too small for a Jaguar Cichlid unless it is a female. Even then no guarantees on compatibility with other fish in the tank like the oscar. I would resist the temptation, let the oscar enjoy the space. Buy more fish is always tempting but dangerous or can be expensive when they are lost due to incompatibility.
