Moved homes a few weeks back. Brought half the tanks water with me and the filters intact not cleaned. It's been running close to a month now.

A few days ago my big SRD lost his color now the entire stock is breathing heavy. But he's the only one who has lost color.

I have overkill oxygenation going on. Temp is 78 ammonia reading 0. Don't have any other tests so I did a 50% water change just as a precaution and still nothing.

Any ideas ? Everyone is still eating and swimming.

Lowering the temp a couple of degrees would allow for more dissolved O2. Could something like a cleaning product or bug spray have made its way into the tank? Large amount of uncounted for food waste? Different water source, such as moving to well water in an agricultural aria? Well water around ag production often has higher nitrates than your tank ever had.

We are on the same city water as before. It's possible my glass cleaner got into the tank but I'm very careful usually. As far as dissolved oxygen I have way overkill. 2 canisters with venturi on each output tons of Micro bubbles.

As far as uneaten food and or poop in the tank. For sure is a nope. I vacuum regularly

The bubbles do not necessarily equal dissolved oxygen. They help but most of the gas exchange is at the surface. The bubbles should be doing a good job of breaking surface tension though. So I am at a bit lost as to what else the problem could be. Gasping sounds like an oxygen, chlorine, or ammonia problem, to me. Lowering the temperature a bit would help dissolved oxygen. Beyond that??? I will have to do some thinking.

I Wil take a pic in an hour when I'm home from work. I have bubbles of all sizes. Lots of surface break and micro bubbles that travel throughout. I'm pretty Confident that we can rule that out

At this point you should probably try to pick up a comprehensive test kit. I know you said ammonia was at zero but buying an API FW master kit could help save your fish, and is nice to have on hand anyway.

I went to big als and had them test the water. He said it's pristine. I can't afford the api test kit right now but I'll put it on the list for sure. I'm wondering. Would my homemade pre filters for the canisters be leeching poisons into the water? They are just made out of Nestlé water bottles.
