I was cleaning my tank last night when suddenly my 16" aerowana swam up to my hand and rolled over onto its side. I was thinking thats odd, so I gave him a little poke and he didn't move. Then It clicked in that maybe he wants to be petted. So I gave him a little rubbing down his side and on his head. He responded with this odd vibrating motion that I've never seen before, kinda like when dogs shake there leg when you pet them in just the right spot. He slowly swam away but seconds later, came back for more. Again I rubbed his head and he responded by turning over on his side for more belly rubs. This continued for around a minuet before I decided to stop fearing I might be removing his slime coating due to the rubbings.

Just thought I'd share that with you all. I've never had a fish that would let me pet it before. Feels good knowing that my fish trusts me enough to allow that. ;)

Interesting. I've heard of fish being okay with being rubbed but never asking for it. Perhaps it wanted something else or nothing at all... we'll never know.

whoah that is wierd. my oscar would let me touch it but never asked for it. if he does it again you should video tape it.

You have a dog stuck in a fish body. Haha that's pretty funny.
