Fish Are Tougher Than You Think

Recently i suffered a major power outage and expected most of my fish to be dead as i know the temperature inside is getting into the 40s at night. I came back today with the water temp at 58 fahrenheit and so far everything is still alive even though they are discolored and not moving much. Hopefully they can keep holding out but so far i am impressed with their resilience.

I forgot to plug my heater back in after a water change one winter. Noticed after a couple weeks that the fish were a bit lethargic. Tank was at 58, and that was during a warm spell. Probably got down to cooler than that.

Have had similar problems without a single death... not realizing my heater crapped out in winter... fish move slower but never a death
