Fish At Bottom

My friend switched from flakes to pellets yesterday and now when he went to feed his fish again they are all laying at the bottom.(4 rotkiel severums and convict) He does not have a testing kit for water parameters. temp is 74 degrees. I told him to do a water change add some aqaurium salt. Anything else to look to do right now.

well first off water temp may be to low should raise the temp to 78-80 then need to go out and get a test kit this will help eliminate any water chemistry problems. ammonia,nitrite,nitrate ....its where I start before taking apart filters and massive water changes.
