So I bought 6 mollies the other day because they were super cheap on sale, I got 4 pregnant ladies and two fellas. Last night one of the Ladies popped haha. First time I ever have seen fish that small.
I put them in my 55g with a 2" jewel and a 1.5" Red Peacock Cichlid just for fun. I am waiting to get some more cichlids till I move in a few months so I thought it would be cool to see some extra cheap fish in there. I only saw 1 last night when it came flying up to the top of the water. Not sure if it made it through the night or not, but I didnt see any this morning.
I just thought it was cool, that thing has to be about 1/4" long. I know it was only a molley, but it was still cool haha. I have got a 10g that I am not using I might set up for some cons to see how fast they really breed for some little feeders for the little jewel and red peacock.
From what I read on here all you need for that is some gravel, some plants, a cheap filter and heater in a 10g. I guess cons dont eat their young? If I do this should I put a few in the tank till they pair, then bring the rest back to a LFS. Once they pair leave them in till the female is pregnant and then move the male to my 55g? Or can I leave them both in the tank and expect no aggression from the male to the female and fry?
